Marie Jahoda Summer School of Sociology
16-20 September 2019

Format

The Marie Jahoda Summer School offers highly qualified PhD students and early postdoctoral researchers in sociology and related fields the opportunity to discuss their PhD thesis (or other ongoing projects) with distinguished international scholars in the field, to exchange with other doctoral students and early-career scholars who work on similar topics and to establish networks within the community.

The Summer School is organised as a combination of lectures, students' presentations and discussions. Students will be asked to submit their papers – i.e. (part of) PhD thesis or other ongoing project – beforehand and present them during the course in order to receive extensive feedback from distinguished researchers and other participants. Every participant will receive two papers of other participants in advance and will be asked to provide detailed feedback. The language of instruction is English, all applicants are to demonstrate a strong command of spoken and written English.
