About the workshop
We invite researchers interested in comparative research using population register data to join an open workshop and networking event held as a pre-conference side meeting at the European Population Conference (EPC) 2026 in Bologna.
The workshop aims to bring together scholars working with, or interested in working with, population register data for family research. The goal is to exchange ideas, discuss data access and research infrastructures across countries, and foster comparative collaboration.
Participants are invited to give a 3-minute flash presentation introducing ongoing or planned research using register data. Presenters are encouraged to bring a poster or flyer summarizing their project and briefly describing register data access in their country. The short presentations will be followed by time for discussion, networking, and developing new joint initiatives. Scholars from Austria, Netherlands and Sweden have already agreed to briefly present their projects.
Registration
Registration is also open to participants who do not wish to present, on a first-come, first-served basis. The workshop may also be of interest to researchers who are curious about register data use or have questions about data access and infrastructures.
If you would like to attend, please register here indicating whether you also want to briefly present your research by 20 April.
